Three things you shouldn’t do with your dog during holiday

Three things you shouldn’t do with your dog during holiday
Holiday is coming! To live it at its best, there are some important things that you and your pet should always remember. Let’s find them out together.
Summer is here, meaning more daylight and outdoor time. The long-awaited holiday is coming: a time to slow down, doing things we love and, particularly, enjoying experiences with our faithful life partners (they will be very happy to spend more time with us!).
Whether you want to go on a beach holiday with your dog or rather staying at home, one thing is sure - if you have a pet, there are some important things you should always remember to make sure that your holiday is a moment of well-being for your dog too. Below are three useful tips.

1) Do not forget their habits
Free time is usually key principle of holiday: forgetting daily routine in favour of greater flexibility.
Unlike humans, changing mealtime can be a bit more difficult for dogs. For this reason, it is always better to stick to their usual lunch and dinner time.
In a nutshell: they need to take their walk and rest as per their usual daily routine.
Moreover, always remember that habits - especially those consolidated over time - are essential for your dog’s wellbeing.

2) Do not modify their diet
Kibbles or delicious meat chunks, it doesn’t matter: respecting their mealtimes is always a good choice to help guarantee them optimal nutrition.
During summer holiday, in fact, your dog needs to eat at a specific time, just like on ordinary days.
Basically, any variations to their nutrition should be done gradually; however, it is not recommended to try changing their mealtimes.
At the same time, it is important to not change their eating habits: in fact, when we are out for a barbecue or a cocktail, we would really like to let them try our food. Of course, it is not a good idea, especially for their well-being: our food is salty and seasoned, and this may result in digestive issues, or even an allergic reaction.
Would you like to offer them a delicious moment when you are out? Bring some snacks with you.

3) Do not underestimate overheating effects on your pet
High temperatures, air humidity, stuffiness: these are the less enjoyable aspects of summer. They have a strong effect on us, and so on our pets!
That’s why you have to remember that your pets shouldn’t stay out in the sun for too long, especially during the warmest hours.
If you like to have them with you at the beach, for a hike in the mountains or for a picnic on the hills, you have to organise things carefully, ensuring that there are shadowy and cool areas for them.
Then, you should always bring a bowl and some water with you. Dogs, in fact, need to drink a lot in summer to avoid dehydration due to sweating: in fact they sweat a lot through their paw pads and mouth panting.
Even when you are at home, make sure there’s always fresh, clean water in their bowl.
